Valentine's from Africa

How awesome that on valentine's day, I open up my mailbox to see a package from Africa?!
Good friends of ours that live in Uganda now had sent us thank you cards from the christmas packages we sent them, and it just so happened to arrive on love day :) Such a cool encouragement to me! My friend sent me some African fabric for Marlee, and some Ugandan beaded bracelets-love them Kat!! these beads are each handmade by Ugandan women by rolling up magazine/newspapers to form the different colors. Talk about resourceful ;)

This week has been absolutely gorgeous weather and I feel the spring fever coming :) I got my first sunburn yesterday because I took Myles to the park ALL morning and we didn't go home for nap until 2:30! But last week we were freezing and had snow...

We've just been plugging away at our homestudy. This past week has been all Michael! He had his third homestudy interview and thursday he has his physical. He's not feeling well today and Myles is trying to get the cold too, but hopefully both my boys will be feeling better soon!

Hope you had a happy valentine's day and I pray you feel the love of our Father for you today too!

fundraising with frames!

Now you can help bring Marlee home by purchasing a beautiful frame! Our sweet friends from church, Jeff and Shana Foster, have an awesome talent of handcrafting wooden frames and run a great business selling them! So when Shana called me about wanting to sell their newest design and give the profits of the first 50 sales to us for our adoption I was like "Rock on!" Their business is called 'Rustic Creations', and they're at many of the area crafting shows during the year. Their new website is under construction-to be finished sometime in march! They are on facebook, and are always up for a custom order :)

So here are the frames that they're selling to help bring Marlee home! You can email your orders to Lyndsey.hester@gmail.com and tell her which color (or colors!) you would like. The frame holds a 5x7 picture, and it doesn't come with the easel pictured. :) The frames are $30 each. If you need it shipped; 10.95 should cover that cost. What a neat valentine's present for your love, or to frame a pic of your love!

Thanks Foster family for your hearts and for giving. And lots of love to Lyndsey for doing the orders and shipping. We love y'all are are so grateful!!

What we're up to...

Thought I would give a little weekly update on what we've been up to lately in the adoption process. Right now we're working on finishing up our homestudy. Myles had his physical monday, I have mine tomorrow, and Michael is putting off his blood test :) Come on dad, if Myles can take the needle-so can you!! We've been taking online classes, I had my personal 'background info' interview with my social worker, turned in some of our required paperwork, and been working on writing thank yous to all you wonderful people who have given to help bring Marlee home! We lack a few things still, but hopefully by the next week or two we will be inviting our social worker into our home for our final home inspection-yikes!

In our family life, we are busy 'outliving our lives'! haha, it's become such a catch phrase, but we are loving the sermon series at church and the amazing ways God is moving us, our small group, and our church to press into God and obey Him with our full trust! I started teaching a class of my own at school (3 year olds) and Myles is jabbering away! We're having a blast with that little man of ours :)
